Speculations have since long indicated that Lexus will unveil a new concept at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, which will compete with the Audi A3 and the BMW 1-Series. Now the Japanese manufacturer has officially released pictures of the LF-Ch hybrid concept hatchback which will debut next week at Frankfurt. The pictures reveal a sporty and aggressive fascia which many would relate more with Honda than Lexus. However, Lexus knows if it has to beat the A3 and the 1-Series it will have to come out with something really special. That is exactly what this LF-Ch concept promises to be, with a reported 2.4 litre petrol-electric hybrid power-train which will churn out a useful 185 bhp channelled to the front wheels. Lexus insiders have also revealed that the production version of the car will be a 90% match with the LF-Ch concept being revealed at Frankfurt and would launch in Europe by the middle of 2010. Since both the Audi A3 and BMW 1-Series retail in the Middle East, it is prudent to assume that this new Lexus will also make its way here. More details are expected at the concept’s debut at Frankfurt. Only members can post comments |
